aboutHi! Welcome to my site. I am an Industrial Designer, and I graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in May 2009. First thing you should know about me is that I love what I do! I enjoy sketching and rendering, designing projects using CAD, making prototype models, and using new materials. I am most interested in shoe design, toy design, jewelry design, consumer products, and exhibit design, but I can really design anything and be happy (I mean even air purifiers can be fun to design if you think outside the box).
My schooling has taught me that design is not all about the form and function of a project, its also about the user and how they perceive your design. I try my best to always look at how a consumer is going to use my design, who that consumer is, what they like, what they are used to, and how I can improve their life in some way with my design.
"Design is directed toward human beings. To design is to solve human problems by identifying them and executing the best solution."
-Ivan Chermayeff
"Design is a plan for arranging elements in such a way as best to accomplish a particular purpose."
-Charles Eames
You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.
-Walt Disney
And the quote I live most by: “Say what you mean, mean what you say.”
In my spare time I really enjoy just sketching, I guess the art kid in me really never leaves, and of course being with my family and friends. But besides that I love watching the Red Sox!!
I am always looking for new opportunities so if you are looking for freelance work, shoot me an e-mail. You can also find me on LinkedIn and coroflot.com/sbicho.
